Heavy and rigid. Inspect walls, lids and seams. Lifting access and a stable base matter.
Port Charlotte septic pumping removes accumulated solids from the tank. We check access, known capacity and symptoms before setting the scope.
Florida examples include 900, 1,050 and 1,200-gallon tanks. Your installed record controls. Near canals, Charlotte County’s managed-system rules may also apply.
Florida storage examples include 900, 1,050 and 1,200 gallons. These are minimum effective capacities for specific design flows, not a measured Port Charlotte average. Check the installed tank record before pumping.
| Home example | Design flow | Minimum tank storage |
|---|---|---|
| 2 bedrooms; up to 1,200 sq ft | 200 gallons/day | 900 gallons |
| 3 bedrooms; 1,201–2,250 sq ft | 300 gallons/day | 900 gallons |
| 4 bedrooms; 2,251–3,300 sq ft | 400 gallons/day | 1,050 gallons |
Bedrooms and building area both count; the higher design flow controls. Extra treatment or pump tanks can add volume. Drain field size is a separate soil-and-flow calculation.
Heavy and rigid. Inspect walls, lids and seams. Lifting access and a stable base matter.
Lightweight composite. Check the shell and fittings. Follow approved support and anchoring details.
Molded plastic. Correct backfill and burial depth help prevent movement or deformation.
New Charlotte County systems need signed, sealed engineer plans. A repair permit has a different scope. Check sewer availability before paying for replacement.

Use the permit record or tank marking. Include all compartments and access points. Extra treatment and pump chambers need their own review.
Non-ATU systems within 300 feet of surface water, measured from the closest drain field point, need pump-out at least every five years, certification and a managed-system permit.
A pump-out removes solids and creates temporary storage. It does not repair blocked soil, high groundwater or a broken distribution line.
After flooding, reduce water use and have conditions assessed before emptying a tank. Groundwater can move an empty tank.
Save the date, capacity, findings and next maintenance recommendation. Solids levels and occupancy may require service before the five-year maximum.

Use actual solids, occupancy and system requirements. Managed non-ATU systems near water have a five-year maximum interval; some need earlier service.
No. Plumbing, filters, pumps, groundwater and field problems need different solutions.
